Technology Overview <previous next>

A WRAN utilizes a wireless UHF signal between the base station (BS) and the customer premises equipment (CPE).  A modem on the customer end converts the signal to data.

  • 6, 7 or 8 MHz channel or separate TV channels.
  • Dynamic network resource management with multipath handling.
  • Narrow channels (voice) and broadband channels (video, data).
  • Power concentrated antenna to increase range.
  • Efficient use of operator spectrum resources.
  • Small data granularity (high statistical multiplexing gain).
  • High reuse factor and spectral efficiency in single/multi cell environment.
